Notes

How do I make a new note?

Tap the compose button at the top right of the Notes list. You can also add the Glassnote control to Control Center, or tap the plus on the widget.

How do checklists work?

Type - [ ] at the start of a line. Tap the box to check it. In Settings you can choose whether checked items dim, get a line through them, or both.

Can I turn off Markdown?

Yes. Go to Settings and switch off Render Markdown. You can also set whether new notes start with Markdown on.

Widgets

How do I put a note on my Home Screen?

Long-press the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and pick Glassnote. It comes in small, medium, large and extra large on iPad.

How do I choose which note the widget shows?

Long-press the widget and tap Edit Widget. Pick the note, the background and the contrast there.

My widget is not showing my latest edit.

Open Glassnote once. The widget updates when the app saves, and iOS decides exactly when it redraws.

Backgrounds

Can I use my own photo?

Yes. Go to Settings, then Background, and tap Add Photo. Use Background Darkness to keep text easy to read.

Sync and backups

Where are my notes stored?

In your own iCloud. There is no Glassnote account and no Glassnote server.

Does it sync with my Mac?

Yes. Glassnote for Mac uses the same iCloud notes, so the same notes show up on your Mac, iPhone and iPad.

My notes are not showing on my other device.

Check that both devices use the same Apple ID and that iCloud Drive is on. Sync needs a network to catch up.

I lost a note. Can I get it back?

Probably. Glassnote keeps backups on each device, separate from iCloud. Go to Settings and tap Restore from Backup.

Purchases

What does Glassnote cost?

$9 once, with a 7-day free trial. No subscription. It covers iPhone and iPad on the same Apple ID, including updates.

Is the Mac app included?

No. Glassnote for Mac is a separate purchase. Your notes still sync between them.

How do I restore a purchase?

Go to Settings and tap Restore Purchase. Use the same Apple ID you bought it with.

How do I redeem an offer code?

Go to Settings and tap Redeem a Code.

My trial ended. Are my notes still there?

Yes. You can still open and read every note. Unlocking brings back writing and editing.
