I made Glasspomodoro because I was tired of keeping a Pomodoro timer in a browser tab. I wanted one appealing Mac window that stayed out of the way, let me set my own focus rhythm, and did not turn into a whole productivity dashboard.
What it actually does
- Set your own timing Choose focus, short break, long break, and rounds per cycle.
- Move quickly with the keyboard Start and pause with
Space, skip withCommand-Right Arrow, reset the stage or cycle, and resize the window from the keyboard. - Make it fit your desk Pick Glass, Dark, or Light backgrounds, cycle timer font styles, and switch between compact and spacious window sizes.
- Keep the timer readable See the current stage, overall cycle progress, and when the session should end.
- Choose how it alerts you Enable notifications plus separate click, ticking, and completion sounds with their own volume controls.
Why use a native Mac timer instead of a browser timer?
Browser Pomodoro tools are convenient, but they still live in the same place as tabs, notifications, and everything else competing for your attention. If you are already trying to focus, that is not a great place to keep your timer.
Glasspomodoro keeps the timer in its own Mac window. You open it, set the rhythm you want, and leave it there. No account, no tab management, no task list you did not ask for.
